chairman of the Center for Economic and Foreign Policy Studies, a think tank in Istanbul, says that U.S. – Turkey relations have peaked during the administration of President Barack Obama.
says “[It] is obviously the consequence of the Arab revolts where Turkey and the US are very much standing side by side.”
In her article, Suzanna Koster also highlights other developments that have positively impacted the bilateral relationship: developments with respect to Turkey – Iran relations and Turkey’s agreement to host an early warning radar system top this list.
However, Koster writes, “The happy relationship is tenuous at best. And it could be the issue of Syria that does it in.”
