Leaders from business, entrepreneurship, finance, academia and technology came together at the annual reception of the TÜSİAD New York Network.
In his opening remarks, TÜSİAD New York Network Chair C. Müjdat Altay summarized the vision behind the network’s founding: “When we established the New York Network, we set out with a clear vision: to build stronger bridges between Türkiye and the United States while strengthening relationships among Turkish-American professionals. New York, with its extraordinary concentration of finance, technology, entrepreneurship, science, education and culture, offers a unique environment for pursuing this mission.” Altay added, “We are strengthening both our community and the ties between Türkiye and the US; we are creating opportunities and building a platform that can leave a lasting impact.”
Following the reception, attended by more than 170 New York-based professionals and entrepreneurs, MIT faculty member Professor Canan Dağdeviren spoke in a fireside conversation about her journey to becoming a scientist in the US, her experiences, and her vision for the future. Moderated by Ümran Beba, one of the leaders of the TÜSİAD New York Network, the conversation explored ways to take breakthrough technologies beyond the laboratory.
Founded in 2023, the New York Network brings together Turkish business people, entrepreneurs, investors, academics and professionals based on the US East Coast. By fostering communication and engagement, the TÜSİAD New York Network aims to advance business, investment and technology opportunities in the United States and Türkiye.
