TUSIAD: "The Protocols Signed Between Turkey and Armenia Are Significant Steps in the Normalization of Relations"

TUSIAD has issued the following statement regarding the two protocols, the first on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations, and the other on the Development of Relations, signed between Turkey and Armenia on October 10, 2009.

“TUSIAD supports the normalization process initiated by President Abdullah Gul’s visit last year to Armenia, which was later refined by the declaration of the road map on April 22, 2009 and confirmed by the signing of the two protocols.  TUSIAD welcomes the mutual understanding to set a timetable for tamoxifen the process and hopes the normalization is achieved as soon as possible.

It is believed that the ratification of these protocols by the two countries’ Parliaments would not only improve bilateral commercial and economic relations but also lay the groundwork for future regional projects in such key areas as energy and transportation. It is strongly expected that this mutual understanding would also contribute to the resolution of conflicts in the Caucasus and the expansion of peace and stability in the region, particularly in Azerbaijan.”
