
The inauguration of TUSIAD’s fifth representative office abroad took place in Beijing, China on November 26th, 2007. The Beijing office operates under the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) and will closely follow the economic and political developments within the Asia-Pacific region with a specific focus on China. The office aims to inform Chinese businesses and policy makers about the developments taking place in Turkey and to conduct business development activities for Turkish and Chinese businesses.
Minister of State in charge of Treasury, Mehmet Simsek, spoke at the opening ceremony and emphasized the increasing role of China in the global economy and commended TUSIAD on its forward looking vision of developing relations between Turkey and China. Also speaking at the opening, TUSIAD Chair of the Board Arzuhan Dogan Yalcindag highlighted that for 36 years the organization has been serving the country in economic, social, and political matters. She emphasized the role of the office in helping the Turkish business community further develop relations with China.
