On November 17, 2006, TUSIAD-US hosted a roundtable discussion titled, "Assessing Turkey's EU Accession Prospects and its Impact on American-Turkish Relations" with Dr. Kemal Kirisci. Professor Kirisci is Jean Monnet Chair in European Integration, director of the European Studies Center, and a professor of international relations in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Bogazici University in Istanbul. The presentation and discussion focused on the changes in Turkish foreign policy in the past 10 years, in terms of how decisions are made, the substance of the policy, and of course, the actors involved. Dr. Kirisci’s presentation was followed by an interactive discussion on how Turkey’s accession to the European Union has been a factor in shaping Turkey’s foreign and domestic policies.
